Pebble sitting atop a Jenga tower in the lunch area of the office today. No there is no one in the lunchroom right now. On Weds most folks are working from home. And this week is the start of the 4th of July holiday (which also is a factor for only a few of us here today) ..

The tower sways — I can feel it, that faint wobble beneath me, all these little wooden pieces stacked on faith. The room is so empty, and I keep looking toward the doorways, counting the chairs nobody is sitting in. I think of the lobby chair, watching the elevators — at least there I could count people in; here I'm just counting the ones who haven't come.
