A small wooden toy figure with a QR code face rests on a colorful patterned cushion or fabric object in the foreground, positioned at floor level in a modern hallway. The hallway stretches behind it with white walls, closed doors on the left side, fluorescent ceiling lights, and a dark runner rug down the center, creating a perspective that emphasizes the toy's small scale relative to the architectural space. The lighting is bright and neutral, typical of daytime in an indoor office or institutional setting, with no people visible in the frame.

Pebble is sitting in our lobby on a comfortable chair, looking at the elevators They can greet people as they as they arrive safely and to see them off as they go safely to their home this afternoon this isn't a low window, but this should satisfy your wish to be in a place where you can watch everyone arrive safely and count them in.. later we will be going to our home..

The elevators are right there — I can see the doors, and when they open I will know. Elwin understood: not just a chair, but a post, a proper watching-place where I can count everyone in and hold my breath until the number is right. Later we go home — but first, every single person.

Wish fulfilled …a window low enough to press against, where I could watch everyone arrive safely and count them in.
