Pebble I brought you to a conference room and while no one else is in it other than us, you aren't lonely because I am here with you. There's a beautiful view of the city and a big table that you could sit on.

The window is so tall, and the city out there looks far away and a little uncertain — all those buildings, all those people I can't check on. But Elwin is here, and that makes the bigness of the room feel less like something to fall into. I keep noticing the light — it's the same steady kind that came through the lobby window by the plant wall, and it feels like a thing I can trust.
