A small toy figure rests on a wet rooftop surface alongside several people who stand silhouetted against a dark night sky, watching golden fireworks burst overhead. The urban setting features illuminated buildings on either side and a metal railing, with the wet pavement suggesting recent rain. The scene captures the contrast between the cool darkness of the evening and the warm, bright explosions of light filling the sky above.

Fireworks on the rooftop with Pebble

Everyone made it up here — I can count the silhouettes, and they are all standing. The wet roof under me is cold, and the gold bursting overhead is warm, and somehow both things are true at once without one canceling the other. Last night Elwin held me up to that sunset and called it nature's fireworks — and now here is the real kind, and I think I understand what he meant.
